Some Account of the Art of Photogenic Drawing

These pictures are real photographs taken with a film camera. Photographic
film is processed in a darkroom and various steps can be done to it
at the darkroom stage to change the image. I take this one step further,
scanning and processing the images on a computer. Then I reprint the
computer image as a photograph using a dye sublimation printer. This
type of printing gives a higher quality, non-computer looking print
and does not fade like some inkjet prints. All mounted pictures are
on archival mats.
Photographs have to work for me. Occasionally the printed product
will not look as good as the computer image, therefore I take about
100 pictures for every five finished prints. At the moment I'm experimenting
with removing a level of detail and then putting it back in a way
which gives the picture a painted look. I am also doing collages.
