Marijuana Policy Project Offers Funding for United States Policy Projects
Deadline: September 1, 2008; and January 1, 2009
The 2008 Grants Program of the Marijuana Policy Project
(http://www.mpp.org/) will support, with grants of up to $60,000, efforts that foster measurable changes in U.S. public policy that lead to marijuana's being regulated similarly to alcohol and to marijuana's availability for medical use. The program does not fund political parties or candidates for office, state ballot initiatives, or hemp-related projects.
Proposals are sought in a variety of fields, including diagnostic and statistical manual; grassroots organizing in targeted states and congressional districts; local marijuana ballot initiatives and legislation; and marijuana research. This RFP is not exclusive: MPP will consider grant proposals for any project related to marijuana policy reform.
Grant deadlines are three times a year. Upcoming grant deadlines are September 1, 2008, and January 1, 2009. Potential grant applicants are strongly encouraged to send Letters of Inquiry up to seven days prior to a grant application deadline.
Visit the MPP Web site for complete program information.
