Dylan and Ginsberg
sitting crosslegged at Kerouac’s
grave. Ginsberg reading out loud
from a thick paperback, Dylan
with serene expression, as if
the words in the book have
somehow relieved him, however
temporarily, of his great burden.
On the ground, autumn
leaves the color of Ginsberg’s
bald but tanned head, scatter
about them. In the distance, trees
stripped bare naked, loom
like sentries.
